Yes! 10years later, I’m excited to share that I made the difficult, yet fully thought out, decision to switch back to Canon.
Now, a bit of background! I started my Photography journey back in 2009 as a hobbyist photographer with a Canon 5D ii and back then, it was mainly for low-light Events and just random photography which I did just for the fun of it. When I took my photography a bit more serious around 2013/2014, I copped my first official camera, a Nikon D3000.
I love Nikon – the color gets me. The colors are vivid and bold and I believe that’s the flavour of my craft. I grew my Photography journey with Nikon, shooting varying aspects such a street, newborn, food, weddings, low-light private events and sports. As 2023 wound down and Photography became more than just a hobby – I had transitioned to Full-time business, I had finally niched down to Sports Photography. My journey from fulltime corporate Lawyer to Full time Sports photographer has been everything from adventurous, difficult, confusing ???? and truly amazing (perhaps, story for another post).
In this era of Canon’s array of mirrorless full frame options, finding the best option within my budget for my niche was seamless. 2 months into shooting golf photography with the Canon EOS R and I can easily say my craft can only improve and transform rapidly from this point forward.
Look out for my next blog post featuring some of the pictures I recently captured on the #CanonEOSR
